Re-blogged "Good Day"

I just though this event was such a moving experience of acceptance and highlighted the hard work of the committee who made it possible for this to happen.

"This Sunday we went to the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown, Ohio. They had a party to celebrate their new status as a Welcoming congregation. That means that they do not condemn GLBTQ individuals and they are all welcoming. The speech by Reverend Susan was very inspiring and moving, there were quite a few misty eyes in the audience.

My friend Kris commissioned me to make a cake for the celebration, I decided that since it was a celebration of acceptance of the GLBTQ community that I should make a fondant rainbow on the top. I used this easy recipe and had good success, I think that you can tell it is my first experience using fondant. I got rave reviews for the cake and some requests for my contact info.
